What people ask before they call
What does a buying agent cost with you?
You pay a fixed fee of €2,499 for the entire process, from the first search to the handover of the keys. That amount is fixed in advance, whatever the purchase price of the home. If you do not buy a home, you pay nothing.
When do I pay the €2,499?
You only pay once you actually buy the property. Settlement runs through the deed at the notary, so you pay nothing up front.
Does the €2,499 include everything, the notary and the valuation as well?
The €2,499 is the fixed fee for the agent's work. Costs such as transfer tax, notary fees, a valuation report, a building survey and mortgage advice are paid separately, directly to those parties.
Do I work with the same agent throughout?
Yes. One dedicated NVM agent handles your purchase, from the first call to the handover of the keys. No rotating team, no call centre and no referral to a colleague.
Do you work in English?
Yes. Your agent speaks English, and we can go through the viewing, the offer and the purchase agreement in English. The contracts and the deed at the notary are in Dutch, as Dutch law requires; we explain in English what you are signing, and the notary can provide a translation or an interpreter.
Which towns and cities do you cover?
We work throughout the Netherlands. We are most active in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Amersfoort, Zwolle, Groningen, Leeuwarden and Almere, among others, but if your town is not on the list we help you just as well. Your agent comes to the property.
What happens after I fill in the form?
You answer a few short questions about your plans, the type of home and your budget. We then call you back. The call and the proposal are free and commit you to nothing.
